Nick's 6'4" Fish

First fish core with radial rail core pattern.

First radial rail style core to have the rail pieces gradually turn toward ends, for more even rail edge spacing.

Notice how near the center, the rail pieces meet the edge of the shape at 90 degrees, but near the ends they "tilt" to the left or right, so they end up pointing straight ahead at the front, and avoid running into each other at the tail corners.

I also made the rail spacing a little tighter near the ends.

These adjustments are intended to make it easier to get a smooth lamination along the rails.

Nick in Australia asked for this 6'4" fish core kit. Here he is holding the almost finished core.

Nick's first attempt at glassing this hollow core looks to be at least as good as my 7th or 8th. Notice the glass and resin leash loop - the little bump at the center of the tail. Skin-to-core bond consistency is pretty good.
